Last Week of My Summer Vacation ..

Next week I'll start a new semester in the university. I really want to have a fresh start and do my very best this time cuz now that I think about it I've been a bit lazy the past two years. Or perhaps its not about laziness, maybe its because I began to think that "I could have done better than that". Well, I guess I will have to put my carelessness aside and start taking my studies seriously u_u .

Lately I became so interested in K-pop *^0^*>> from watching Arirang TV channel. There is that program on arirang called "Battle Shinhwa" which is a singing contest. They put contestants into groups so that they form a band and make a performance on stage then the audience votes for their favorite band. The contestants should sing one of Shinhwa's songs. Shinhwa is a very famous boy band in Korea >> their songs are great plus their performance on stage is amazing. Anyway, there are also other Korean artists which I was impressed of such as BoA who is becoming famous outside of Korea. I liked one of her songs which was an ending theme song for Inuyasha anime.

Good News \ n_n / ... Finally

Yesterday I went to the hospital with mom to visit my brother and we were happy to hear that he is better now and he can go home with us XD. People who came to visit him brought him a lot of gifts>> that made him happy.

Yesterday also, I was trying to cook some sweets (the ones made from chocolate mixed with cereal). It was an easy recipe and tastes GOOD too. Fortunately I succeeded in making it and I served it to my aunts who came to visit us. They liked it and asked me to give them the recipe too ^.^.

I am recently reading "The Amulet of Samarkand" by Jonathan Stroud, a wonderful novel which I highly recommend. It's the first book of "The Bartimaeus Trilogy". The story talks about a jinni called Bartimaeus and a young magician called Nathaniel. The book has a lot suspense and very hilarious moments.

I just heard that the manga "Death Note" became licensed >_<>> I am also looking for another manga which is licensed too, so I might ask some friends if they have it.

.....

I hoped this summer will end happily, but now I doubt it will.
My family and I were staying in Liwa the last tow weeks after we came back from Lebanon. Everything was going just great and I was enjoying my time visiting my relatives. My uncle's wife made a competition in here house for the best dates (the fruit of the palm tree), and a lot of women joined the competition including my mom who won the 8th place. That was really fun especially with a lot of old women involved and each one of them saying her dates were the best.
The next day I was going to go with my sister to my grandmother's house coz some of my cousins will be there. I was just getting myself ready when I heard that my 12 year old brother had a motorcycle accident. He was taken to the hospital in Liwa but because of their lack of good doctors they sent him to Madinat Zayed Hospital where they X-rayed him and found a broken bones in his right hand and a scratch in his shoulder's bone. He also had an internal wound in his stomach, thank God he wasn't badly injured. His face wounds were treated but my dad thought that it would be better for my brother to get the rest of the treatment in AbuDhabi. Of course we all left Liwa heading to AbuDhabi but we didn't have time to pack all our stuff, which means we will have to go back to Liwa to get them when my brother's situation gets better. He is actually getting better now after two days, but he will need sometime to fully recover.
There are a lot of kids who ride on motorcycles in liwa (they are 4 wheels motorcycles and come in sizes). The younger kids ride on the small sized ones but my brother had a big sized one and it was very fast. In liwa they love riding them and playing on the sand dunes. However, they are very dangerous and there has been a lot of accidents. Also the weather in Liwa is extremely hot especially between 12 to 4pm and still you find kids outside their homes riding motorcycles. But even if a kid didn't have his own motorcycle he will go and ride with another kid who has one. It is a very big problem.
